Default 25NL, A3 sooted in a reraised pot

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 4 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $26.05
BB: $12.15
Hero (UTG): $40.00
BTN: $25.95

Preflop: Hero is dealt 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 Players)
Hero raises to $1.00, BTN folds, SB raises to $2.50, BB folds, Hero calls $1.50

Button is super-tight. I'm stealing blinds. reraise is too small to fold and I think he's tired of me stealing constantly.

Flop: ($5.25) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $2.00, Hero calls $2.00

hmmm.. TPBK gutshot in a reraised pot.

Turn: ($9.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $3.00, Hero ?? pushes??

he's attempting to be taggy but coming off weakish. and hasn't adjusted to 4 handed play. I'm raising 75% and hitting flops.

You have some FE, the turn bet seems weak, I am honestly not sure? I am tempted to call in position, but this might be weak, interested in other posts

i hav no idea what he has got... his play is awful.. at an absolute shot in the dark i would put him on pockets between 99-KKK... solely on the reason that he is betting so small that he is scared of the ace... this sounds ridiculous i know but this happens alot with newbs

so if I'm already ahead a big part of his range but behind the rest of it with FE versus part of what I am behind ...

that's the question.

Raise it up! Turn lead's pretty weak and it seems like he doesn't want to shut down or commit too many chips to the pot. You've got a combo and MIGHT be ahead any way. Calling's too passive here while folding is weak espeacially 4-handed.

no, I think your read is right, I belatedly put him on 99+, some chance of AT+ played badly.

And I pushed, but I'm thinking maybe I should have let 99+continue to put money in the pot.

I think a push in this particular situation is -ev. What exactly do we want fold equity against...Any better ace/sets are calling the push given Hero's image. Smaller pockets only have an outside chance of calling a push. Any club gives us the nut flush and any 2 gives hero a straight so there aren't too many scare cards for hero to worry about. Calling and having another smaller card on the river gets value from a mid PP + keeps us getting burned from better aces/sets with pot control.

I'd just call. With position, his fishy style, and your image, you wlil get paid if you hit. Besides, if hes milking a monster horribly like alot of fish your just gonna get it in a huge dog.
