NL200: Am I Pot Committed?
Live $1/$2 NL. I have about $200.
Loose/Semi-Aggressive/Bluffing Villain has me covered. I have J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 limpers; I raise to $18. All fold except Villain on the button. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I bet $45. Villain asks how much I have left -- which is about $140. At this point, am I pot committed? If Villain raises all-in, do I fold getting about 2:1? If the Villain just calls, and then... If a non-club straight-making card comes on the turn, do I bet? Am I pot committed to a raise then? If a club comes, what do I do? |

Re: Am I Pot Committed?
I don't think you're pot committed, but you're close. You have $140 left. If you had $100 left, I would say yes.
That said, given your description of villain, I would call getting 2:1 odds -- you're likely ahead of TT, top pair, FD, straight draw, combo draws at least 33% of the time. If he calls the flop, I'm probably done with the hand b/c I can't think of much you beat at that point. If you make a decent-sized turn bet, then I think you're pot committed. |

why did you bet so much... [/ QUOTE ] Pot is $42. I bet $45. I wanted to take the pot right there -- a lot of scare cards can come on the turn and I'm OOP. What's a better play/bet here? |

Re: Am I Pot Committed?
OK. So Villain calls my $45 flop bet. Pot is now $132. I have about $140 left.
Turn is: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] What do I do? |

Re: Am I Pot Committed?
usually when a guy asks your stack at this situation, especially when he is amateur means he doesn't have a big hand, atleast not yet. If he had the nuts for example I doubt he really thinks about your stack size. On flop I think you have the best hand and turn is a little more trickier, I probably cr/all in turn. If he checks behind, I block bet river and probably fold to raise.

Re: Am I Pot Committed?
I'm done with the hand at this point. The 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] was obviously not a good card, although even if it had been a blank, I still would shut it down. Again, I don't see much that you beat other than a bluff. I would rather save my money for a better spot.

live nl 1/2 im pushing [/ QUOTE ] Why? When Villain calls the flop bet, what range do you put him on, and out of that range what do you think folds/calls an all-in? |
