late in a $5.50 27 seater/ fold?
10 left in this 27 seat sit n go, villain hasn't been out of line and this is the first 3 bet I’ve seen him make. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Also if I am in the wrong forum please let me know. What were your thoughts on making it 1800 which is nearly half your stack??

Re: late in a $5.50 27 seater/ fold?
I open fold this one. May be a little to tight but especially if villain hasn't done anything out of line a minraise utg is probably a pretty strong hand here. You pretty much pot comitt yourself with a hand that is probably at best a coinflip right here.
Try to think about what hands he might be minraising utg here. A high pp, ak maybe aq. If he seems like a strong player he probably doesn't make this raise w/ a hand hes gonna lay down. If he doesn't raise obviously raise but to his raise I instafold. |

Would a call for set-value be bad?
Depends on UTG, of course |

Re: late in a $5.50 27 seater/ fold?
well, my standard line would be just to fold the first time. But, if you have a read that this guy has been out of line, and you think he may be here as well, I guess it's not so bad.
But, once you make that pot committing raise, you are, in fact, pot committed. So, now you call. Villain is making a 4-bet for the record, not a 3-bet. |

Re: late in a $5.50 27 seater/ fold?
That's a monster and an instant fold, IMO. Not having been out of line, min raise UTG = trying to stir up some action with a killer hand. He's just begging for someone to raise him over the top of his weak raise and there's no way he ever had any intention of laying it down. Best case scenario, you're coinflipping. I'd put AQ as the worst hand he's playing here. More likely it's a higher pp, maybe AK.
Minraises from UTG in spots like that, from players that haven't been donking off chips, always scare the crap out of me. |

Thanks for the input everyone.
Would this be a standard fold for most? What about a smaller raise, say 1000-1200ish? Something that would be easier to fold to his 4 bet (thanks devin). I just hate giving up my blind with a medium pair 5 handed. |
