AA in Micro MTT and dealing with ugly flop
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Blinds 75/150
(9 handed) internettexasholdem.com MP1 (t835) MP2 (t2925) Hero (t3655) CO (t870) Button (t1935) SB (t1020) BB (t3170) UTG (t2335) UTG+1 (t1880) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP2 calls t150, Hero raises to t500, 2 folds, SB calls t425, 1 fold, MP2 calls t350. Flop: (t1650) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, MP2 bets t300, Hero ??? MP2 had played 57 hands and had VPIP-17.5%/PFR%-3.5%/ AF-0.83 SB had played 33 hands and had VPIP-9%/PFR%-0%/AF-0.50 PF I raise to 3.3xbb after open limper and get called by SB and open limper. Don't put them on strong hands. When flop hits I definitely did not like the board since it could have hit both of my opponents. SB checks so I figure he missed based on his aggression factor from previous hands, MP2 raises 2xbb which could mean many things. He could have a draw, pair and a draw, 2 pair, etc. Was lost as to how to play hand from here. Few questions: 1)If I reraise to 1k, SB folds, and MP2 pushes am I pot committed to call? 2)If I raise SB folds, and MP2 calls and board then pairs 9s on the turn would the best play be to reraise on turn or just smooth call if I think he has 2 pair. 3)How bad a play on the flop would flat calling be and then reevaluating on the turn? 4)How would the 2+2 community played this hand preflop and on the flop? Thanks for your help. |

Re: AA in Micro MTT and dealing with ugly flop
what do you mean by micro?
if like, $5 or less, just go allin. you'll get called by worse. |

Re: AA in Micro MTT and dealing with ugly flop
I dont fold AA in micros, pretty much ever, on the flop or whenever. That being said I probably make it 600 preflop but its no big difference. On the flop Im really not folding so i reraise big here to like at least 1000 probably like 1500, and call a push. Donkeys pay you off with so much crap in micros, just expect to get it in against like K10 or KQ or something or worse. You might have to dodge some outs but thats fine. And if he outflopped you meh, no big deal.

Re: $1+0.10 MTT (1900+ runners)
I make it 600PF but not that big of a difference. ~1200 on the flop and call a shove. If he just calls, get it all-in on the turn no matter what he does.

Re: $1+0.10 MTT (1900+ runners)
Why is this flop ugly? What flop are you looking for with aces?
This one is rainbow and he bets 300 into a 1650 pot. Make it 1500 to go or something like that and call a push. |

Yeah, you're afraid of 2 hands, Q-10 and K-J. Just go with it.

Re: $1+0.10 MTT (1900+ runners)
I have a hunch that your aces were cracked this hand. You felt you were behind and called and your hunch was right. Then you were kicking yourself for doing it.
I could not get my chips in any faster. |

Re: AA in Micro MTT and dealing with ugly flop
Someone had to catch a piece of this flop, just move all in and expect to flip vs KT, JT or whatever they might have.
If you are beat, you are beat no need to second guess yourself |
