NL25: Facing heat with an overpair sucks a whole lot
$.10/$.25 NLHE 9-handed
Hero ($35) is MP2 with K-K MP1 ($25) raises to $.85, Hero re-raises to $3, SB ($43) coldcalls, MP1 calls Flop 10-8-3r SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $5, SB calls, MP1 calls Turn 10-8-3-8 SB bets out $9, MP1 folds, Hero?? SB is a total donk. Just been making some crazy weird plays. He called a PF raise and reraise with 10-9 off and then check-raised an inside straight draw with it on an 8-6-2 flop. Still, his turn lead still doesn't strike me as very inviting. I know I probably should have bet more on the flop as well. Thoughts? |

Hero pushes, since the guy is a donk. If he has an 8 you'll get your money back anyway...

Re: Facing heat with an overpair sucks a whole lot
I push this all day long and I expect him to have a much wider range than just trip 8's.
(I used to fold this, untill I saw people doing this with all kind of hands. Now, I don't fold a hand like this very easily) Don't know if your site is as fishy as where I play but I expect that 25NL is fishy everywhere. |

Re: Facing heat with an overpair sucks a whole lot
I thought for a really long time and finally pushed. I guess he can have anything from a 10 to an overpair to a straight draw to the trips here, but it still did scream out trips to me and that was certainly my first instinct. But I didn't listen to myself, and the donkey instacalls with 8-2 lol and bye bye to my stack.

Raise more preflop like 4 or 4.5 then push the turn he has a 10 or something else less than KK here all day.
