Is more RAM going to make any difference?
I've got 512mb of ram on the 3 year old laptop I play on. Its running XP and P4. It's moderately smooth. Is 1gb of ram going to make a huge difference? I mean with 512 I can play all sort of 3d games and stuff. Is it really going to improve on these poker software (FTP) that doesn't seem to require much? Upgrading laptop ram is really expensive and I don't want to spent unnecessary cash if I can.

Re: Is more RAM going to make any difference?
I expect that you would not notice any difference in performance.
If you press ctrl-alt-delete to open task manager and click the performance tab you can look at your page file usage. When you have insufficient ram your computer saves it on the hard disk in the page file, kind of like writing something down when you have too many things to remember at once. You can also read the available physical memory on this screen, if your page file usage is high, and/or you have little avaiable physical memory then upgrading ram might make a difference. |

Re: Is more RAM going to make any difference?
upgrading RAM is usually a good idea, especially if u plan on using a HUD and pokertracker along with full tilt...just in general, more ram = smoother performance...u'll have to see if that investment is worth it for u though...

Look for some cheap laptop ram on ebay. More ram is never a bad thing.
