Default Turned trips facing big overbet

I had only played 1 orbit so far and had no real reads. I really didn't know what to make of his bet. Maybe a j8/68 that got scared? mayber a weaker 10? I guess 810 is quite likely. I really don't know though. Wtf do you do? All thoughts much appreciated

Wtf, this must be one of these patterns you eventually see enough and can interpret what it means.

obsidian: why does villian take this line, and what does he usually hold??

not beating much aye...if you give the villain any credit as a thinking player, his OB here would be made to induce calls from holdings exactly like yours (and thus getting value for his likely holding of flopped straight).

Did you ask yourself what you would do in response to a position raise before you made the $10 bet?

Furthermore i dont like a lead on turn, with the villains smooth call on flop a show of strength

i did indeed run like the wind.... maybe it's just because villain turned out to be a complete donkey that i wasn't sure if i played this right. I was almost certainly way ahead. But nonetheless i agree i don't beat an awful lot of a DECENT player's range and with no reads i guess we tend (have) to assume a player is at least half decent

I'm not too sure i did ask myself what i would in response to a raise. Definitely not with regards to the guy who had position on me, he was the one who min-raised pf and i didn't put him on much.

Is villain's smooth call on the flop a great show of strength? he could make that call with a ton of hands. There is no way i can put him on anything that beats me before i make the turn bet. In fact I think the turn bet was really important becasue it allowed me to figure out where I was and then fold when villain actually showed strength
