First ten hands in the game, no read on anyone yet. Villan's c/r scared on the flop, now i think back, should i 3 bet the flop or raise on the turn? For what purpose tho? I know my river bet is standard.

should i 3 bet the flop or raise on the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, do one of those. I prefer 3betting here. [ QUOTE ] For what purpose tho? [/ QUOTE ] Without a read, you don't really have enough information yet to know that you are behind on the flop, so you're 3betting for value. Being BSB, in addition to hands you're behind, the BB could be raising draws, a worse made hand, or potentially completely bluffing the flop making it more likely you're ahead. Even if this wasn't a blind steal situation, I'd still 3bet this flop. |

Why dont we check raising the turn because you gain more value that way? Are we just 3 betting the flop for information?

Why dont we check raising the turn because you gain more value that way? Are we just 3 betting the flop for information? [/ QUOTE ] Always tricky when you are heads up. You 3-bet the flop for value because you probably have the best hand. If your opponent caps, you can call and re-evaluate on the turn. You dont really want to wait until the turn to find out that you are behind. ( and you could not check raise the turn, because your opponent was acting before you) |

Your 3betting the flop for value. If villian caps then you can reevaluate your position.
You can't c/r. your in position. If he just calls the flop 3bet and donks the turn I'd call down. As played I check behind on the river. |

You 3-bet the flop for value because you probably have the best hand. If you wait to check raise the turn, you risk getting 3-betted by a better hand. [/ QUOTE ] You also risk missing a bet if he checks behind the turn. HU this will happen FAR FAR less, but it still sucks none the less. |
