Default What\'s a good Chapman score?

I have a general idea of what a good scramble score is based on playing in several, however, I really have no idea what a good Chapman score is. Obviously it's going to vary based on the level of competition, but what should a couple of mid-handicappers be aiming for? Modified chapman.

If your format is both drive, select ball to play and then alternate shot until holed, (Chapman, I think) score should be somewhat under net par if both players play about the same type game. It is harder than you might think because you have a great deal of preassure on each shot and it is hard to get into a regular golf mode. If you mean both drive and then hit each others drive and then select ball to play until holed via alternate shots you should score about 75% of your net best ball average under par. Most Chapmans handicap at 60% of high and 40% of low handicap with some max spread of 10-12 shots allowed.

Played a modified chapman last year. 4 players drove, picked the best drive, and everyone played their own ball in. Low two scores counted. Total gross score was +9. This was a difficult course none of us had seen before.

I think we had one hole where we had to take a bogey and a double, and maybe one with two bogeys. Most were two pars, a few with a par and a bogey, and one or two where we were -1.

I really enjoyed the format. I hope to play it more often, but most tournaments opt for the scramble, which gets boring after a while.

Team composition was an A- player, a B, and 2 C's. For comparison, in a scramble we tend to come in around -3 or -4.
