Need heads-up strategy for TLB Match vs Raymer!
OK guys. As of right now I am playing Raymer Heads-up PLO hi/lo in about 4 hours for 2K on stars. I might not get to play if one of the players that finished higher than me signs up for the match. But........for now I need to come up with a good strategy for this heads up match.
gogogogogoggogoooooo. My plan is to start off playing small pots out of position. I will be calling raises but not raising or reraising. In position I plan on being quite aggressive even with marginal starting hands. Help me plz. |

Re: Need heads-up strategy for TLB Match vs Raymer!
Omaha8 hands run together close in value so you can play most hands. Most people raise A2 , A3 etc but this gives a lot away about your hand HU (so if you raise with A2 and the flop comes no low, and you bet again he may know you're bluffing).
Avoid unsuited middle cards and the ignorant end of the straight. Watch for his patterns duh,how does he play hi or low only hands, how does he play low draws? Suits are good! 24QQss is a playable hand IMO especially if he'll play anything also. Bluff on a scary board if you detect weakness. Marginal hands are better in Omaha. So in heads up, a good hand is weaker than it would be in FR or 6 max but still stronger than in hold em'. He still gets 4 cards an may have a nuts. For instance, having trips is a very strong hand Heads up, it is almost certainly beat with any action in full ring. On the other hand, if you flop a set, bet he calls and then a card that puts a straight and flush on the board comes I would be very scared. Backup low cards are important, even if they are 7's. You want to scoop, in a HU tourney winning half the pot is useless BUT Sometimes it can bail you out when you make a bad read. I've watched a lot of HU play and played a little (THOUGH MOSTLY LIMIT) I assume many of the same concepts apply good luck I hope this helps, though you probably knew a lot of it already. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't agree with most of this advice.. if you're only raising A2 and A3 hands, you need to raise more hands then. You can raise any 4 from the button if you feel frisky. If he calls every time, then you tighten up some. The only hands I really avoid are stuff like 6789.. 668Q crap like that. Don't be afraid to shove if you have a huge draw. QQ24 is a monster, I'd raise that 99% of the time |

I don't think you really disagree, you just made more clear and clarified some of what I said.
