What does leveling mean?
I see it in BBV and I have a general Idea, but I'm not sure.

Re: What does leveling mean?
Sarcasm. Or thinking on a deeper level than is literally implied, similar to the levels of thought involved in poker (what does he think I think he thinks I think he thinks I have?). But primarily just sarcasm/dry humor, especially when you see the term in BBV or OOT.

Re: What does leveling mean?
In surveying, the laser level is affixed to a tripod, levelled and then spun to illuminate a horizontal plane.

Leveling usually involves responding to a poster with information that couldn't possible be true... or could it? This often results in the OP asking if he is being leveled (or being informed by another poster that he has been leveled). To effectively level someone you want your response to be far fetched however presented seriously in a very matter of fact manner. A poster who can't see through the ruse has been leveled. |

I.e., he is presenting a "far fetched response" that someone may not see through. |

Excuse me but I've worked in construction for twenty years, I think I know what leveling is.
