Beat: I listen to Christian radio
This started a couple of months ago. I was flipping back and forth between the two sports talk stations I listen to, but they both started long commercial breaks at the same time so I hit scan. I ended up on some Christian talk station.
The preacher was some Scottish guy named Alistair Begg ( truthforlife.org). Now I'm actually a very non-religious guy. If people ask, I usually say I'm agnostic, but that's really just because I like to keep my options open. And I usually hate religious sermons of any kind and think evangelists in the media are generally the biggest sleazeballs around. But this guy could talk the panties off a nun. Every time I hear him, I'm completely enthralled for some reason. I'm not sure if it's his Scottish lilt or what, but I find myself sitting there listening to him almost every morning during my commute. It's really weird because when I listen I don't have any desire to convert or "accept Jesus as my personal lord & savior" or anything like that. I just like listening to him. Thoughts? |
