$55/300 Final Table Pocket Ten\'s
My dad played this hand. I argued about it with him. I am mostly a cash game player and thought he played it badly.
It is a 6-person per table large tournament. He reached the final table. There are 5 players left. First place gets roughly $2400, second gets $1200, then $600, $400, and $300. 5 players remaining. Blinds 1000/2000. Basically everyone has around 44000 at the start of the hand, except UTG, who is the chip leader with 70000. UTG Folds. Hero raises Td Ts to 6000. Button Calls. Blinds folds. (Hero and Button both have roughly 38000 chips now). Flop: 7 8 9 rainbow. Hero moves all in for 38000. Thoughts? Thanks calc |

Probably a huge overbet on the flop, but he has an OESD so it can't be all that bad.

Re: $55/300 Final Table Pocket Ten\'s
I see nothing wrong with that move at all. What did you expect him to do? He got the flop he wanted to see plus he has outs if Button was slowplaying a bigger pocket pair or if he hit a set. Pushing here is pretty standard in my opinion.
I could see a 12g bet or something but there is no way your going to fold that hand to a raise. |

Re: $55/300 Final Table Pocket Ten\'s
lead for 8,000-12,000 and hope that you get raised.
if called, shove the turn. It looks like your dad is trying to take down the pot right there and he is passing up expected value in doing so. Obviously, all of your dad's chips are going into the middle at some point in this hand. If he is really worried about getting sucked out on the turn then he could lead the flop for 12,000 to shut out all AX type hands but still induce a bluff from 22-66/9Ts/67s/ATs/AK/AQ and still get action from A9s/A8s |

Yeah, pretty much what Cornell said.
I didn't finish my thought in my first post because I was feeling a little sick and I've been in a bad mood all day. |
