How Often Should I Check-Raise Here?
Live $1/$2 NL
UTG+1 raises to $7 (~100 stack) MP calls (~100 stack) Folds around to me in the BB w/ AA (~300 stack). I raise to $22. Both call. Flop: K83r. I check. (I want to check raise AK/Kx). How often should I check-raise here? 10%? 1%? Never? |

Re: How Often Should I Check-Raise Here?
Never, if they are going to bet Kx if you check to them, they going to call your flop lead anyway. Leading here in a straightforward manner is the best chance to stack them, especially in a loose live game.

Re: How Often Should I Check-Raise Here?
they will be far less suspicious if u just keep betting yourself. this is a spot where I almost never check raise. KX will usually never fold if u dont make him think, check raising him makes him think and maybe even fold. I rather check call the flop than check raise(if I had to choose one of the 2), they will put u on a pair under kings.

Re: How Often Should I Check-Raise Here?
c/c c/r is a pretty strong line from a preflop raiser. you're not going to get money that way, and probably beat by anybody that calls you (except AK)

Re: How Often Should I Check-Raise Here?
They don't have much money left. 1/2 pot is about 1/2 of their remaining stack. Also, checking lets AQ/AJ improve. I don't think c/r is good here a lot, but definitely sometimes, when the situation is right. How often is that?

[/ QUOTE ] imo when they have less than 50$ left on the flop u might want to check and make them bluff at the pot since you are already commited to go all the way no matter what. and if they have a hand that might improve on turn to be a better than aces then the money would have gone all in on the flop if u bet. (ok well 22 might fold). Well u get my point. |

With these stacks, I think leading out is almost always correct. AK or KQ raise you all-in after you lead the flop. You'll probably get calls from some weak Ks. The checkraise will definitely give K9 a chance to figure out he's not good. |

The checkraise will definitely give K9 a chance to figure out he's not good. [/ QUOTE ] So, the pot is $67. They have about $70 behind. I check, and K9 bets how much? Let's say $30. I then raise all-in. Does K9 fold for $40 more into a pot with $167 in it? I don't see how he can get away from this. |
