Default Pushbotting in tourneys, PO/PT stats to concentrate on

Hi all,

As I have understood after lurking here for quite some time, it is an essential skill to be able to push if the spot is right.

How, I am learning about ICM, Nash equilibrium, and the likes, but I was wondering if there is any stat being tracked by programs like PT and PO that gives you an idea what calling ranges of your opponents would be? Can any of the regulars shed some light on this?

I do understand that stack sizes are really important in these matters, but there must be some way to derive a calling range from the huge amounts of stats these programs generate.

Any thoughts?

It changes as you approach/get past the bubble but VPIP is the key number I look at

PT stats are a good starting ground but you should never base a decision solely on someones PT stats. My VPIP can be all over the place depending on the stage of the tournament and what my table will let me get away with.

If you were to look at just the VPIP of a highly agro player you'd almost never push into them and that would be wrong in plenty of cases. Just because some players open light doesn't mean they're calling your shove light.

Does anyyone actually use attn to steal %, steal % and all those? Unless you have at least 10-15 orbits, they seem more than useless to me....I really don't use any PT (well, PokerOffice but whatever) stats but # hands, VPIP %, raise % and postflop aggro factor.
