Default KQs deepstacked 10/20 xpost

So i raise K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in MP with a stack of about 4k. Staalmusa, a pretty good regular calls OTB, he covers.

FLOP (pot about 170)
K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I check, he bets 120, I call.

Turn is a Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Pot is now 400
I bet 350, he raises to 900, I call.

River is a 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I check, he bets 1700 (leaving us about 1k behind).

this reaaally sucks why do I run so bad at 10/20

i think you had to bet first on flop...

on the turn i probably put him all in, i was not able to just call his raise with a posible flush and str8 draws... if he had trips nice hand, but i dont think you had to act so passive in this hand

but thats just my opinion, i'm nothing... thiknk that if he had AK he woulded reraise you PF

Played it too passively c/c b/c

Lead flop and 3 bet if he reraises or evaluate and fold

Smells like a set ??

Yeah I would say lead flop, makes it easier with this WA/WB hand. As played it smells big time set he calling OTB.

And maybe put in a bet on river. I don’t know how tricky trappy this player is but none tricky players turn C/r is a lot of times 2 pairs or better.

You guys are analyzing the wrong parts of the hand, flop play is fine. I like turn a lot too, but don't see how you can fold this river.

im with ya

as I said in the MSNL thread, my initial thought was to c/f river as

if he had a combo draw w/ a pair he checks behind most of the time

if he has a set he's obv going for value
he may vbet 2 pair but i'm not sure

he probably gives up a lot with missed draws on the river too, right?

i think sounds strange the way he played on flop, because he raised and floped top pair and didnt bet, but its aceptable sometimes against a player that you know that will bet...

to the other guy looks like that he had a hand like JJ TT and got scared with that K, so the other guy was trying to steal the pot doing agressive bets, the way the other guy played the hand dont seems he had a really good hand and posible a big draw on the turn or just a flush draw

baluga told how he played this hand, looked like he is a very tight player or was playing tight in that session, so i think that theres a huge chance that the other guy was trying to make pressure to steal it

so, we have two hipotesys... if you were playing really tight and he was doing a bluff you were right in my opinion... but if that guy had a diamond draw or a OED i think you woulded pushed him all in on the turn

I think your hand looks kind of weird because if you had 77 or 88 you woulda put action in on the flop, and if you had QQ you woulda jammed the turn. Your hand looks like a big draw that played weird or AK, KQ, KJ(I doubt you would've led turn with AK/KJ but w/e). I dunno, the hand went kinda weird and he could just give up on his hand analysis, put you on a missed draw, and make a big bet. Or he could be vbetting 78. I guess you run into a set here a ton but I think it's a cooler...
