Default Passive on flop with overcards

This is my first post so I'm sorry if it should be in the beginner's forum instead.

The table was filled with calling stations, as you would probably expect from a .10/.20 table. Everyone was very loose and very passive. I didn't lead out on the flop because I didn't think it would thin the field at all even though the flop was very ragged. I folded to the bet because I figured that I likely was drawing to 6 outs in a small pot. Is this way too passive?

If you have 6 outs, you can call since the break even pot-odds are 1-6.7 and you're getting 1-9 or more. You will have to discount 2 spades so it's 4 outs, which makes it close. I thinking calling is okay, because you can expect to win a bunch when a K comes from hands with a K and worse kickers or middle pairs. You hands won't be dominated from KQ or AK, since no one raised preflop except you.

There is no reason to raise preflop really. You could raise from the button. Remember SB is the worst position on all later streets.

I play it the same and don't think it's too passive. You have less than 3 outs (1.5 for each over discounted more for the K or J of spades).

This is fine. Always discount overcard outs, particularly on a flop like this. Would you like to see the K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?
