No. Been tried before, has failed every time. 6 max live = too short and falls apart.

Live players prefer full games. When games get to 8 handed, players start taking walks and bitching that they have open seats. Then more players get up and games break. If you start 6 handed, the second it gets to 5, forget about it, it's going to fall apart.

Venetian has said they will be spreading 6-max games upon request, I don't know however if this has actually taken off since the word came out last month or so. Its a silly concept if you think about it though, they should just start new tables shorthanded instead of waiting for 10 players or more on the list

Because most regulars are a bunch of nits who don't want to have to push the smaller edges and make the more marginal decisions that shorthanded poker requires.

They think they get raked too much shorthanded...and pay blinds too often.

(not my personal opinion on the games, just those that I've observed over the years)

Any number of things including casinos wanting to charge full rake at shorthanded games (the V does not), people wanting to play full games where they aren't in the blinds 33% of the time, etc. Then when one guy gets up to go to the bathroom suddenly it's 5 handed. Etc.

Where does this suddenly widespread perception that every regular is a "nit" come from? "Rock" would have been a better word for what you described anyway. Or am I being nitty?
