Default Am I ever good when a live 15 player three bets this river?

Bellagio 15. Friday early afternoon game. My first orbit. Villain is in his late 30s and looks Italian. He hasn't shaved in a few days. Seems like a regular given that he has been chatting with two players at table, but not in the typical tourist way. But I'm not really sure. Haven't seen him involved yet in the 15 or so hands that I've been at the table for.

My image is probably that of an internet player as I already busted out my Ipod and everybody at the table has at least 15 years on me. It's my first hand.

I open in the hijack with AA. Folds to villain in bb who calls.

Flop is 8h4x2h. Check, I bet, call.

Turn is Tx. Check, I bet, call.

River is Ah. He bets, I pause for a while and raise, he three bets. Besides puking, wtf do I do?

My intention with the long pause was to use some sort of reverse tell to pretend like I was deliberating raising with my hand and discourage a bluff. But I don't know how an unknown 15 player that's prob a regular would react to the pause.

Just for [censored] and giggles. Here's another hand I played with villain an orbit later. See if this changes ur action. I open in MP2 w/ 88. He calls in sb. HU to an 865r flop. We go 10 bets on the flop after I pussy out and just call his 10 bet. He bets a 6 turn, i raise, he three bets, I'm very confused and call. He bets the river, i of course call and lose to 66.

I just call. Swarthy live regulars are never folding 35 preflop in the BB if they're suited. If it wasn't your first orbit you might be able to get a better sense if he has A4, but since you know nothing about him, I'd give him credit for the straight.

I was more concerned about the flush. And I never thought about 4 betting this river.

Bad reading comprehension. Didn't notice the flush. The [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] makes the flush/suitedness stand out more for future threads.

I don't raise that river live when villain leads.

I wouldn't have given as much action as you did in the second hand.

Don't puke cause if he just made a flush that's the weakest played flush draw I've ever seen. I'm almost inclined to 4bet/fold but I call instead.

But then doesn't he also play A8/ A4/ 88/ 44 a lot quicker too? I'm just wondering what besides a bluff I beat? 3 bet river bluffs have to be ridiculously rare at live 15 games. But i don't know as i don't have a ton of experience.

you have to call here especially given your (bush league imo) long pause raise on river. Don't be results oriented.

Since you have no read on him your river raise is kind of silly. Seems like a 0 sum play to me. He was either looking to represent the flush or has it.
