advice for buying a used car
i am thinking of buying a used car for the first time. i'm open for any advice for buying from a) a private seller (found on autotrader.com) or b) a dealership
maybe these questions are dumb but: for a) do i still have to pay some sort of tax? i mean i know that from a dealership the price usually doesn't include tax, title, registration, etc. is everyone (dealerships and private sellers) usually open to negotiation in price? i mean i know i could just ask but just generally is everyone always haggling? besides car fax is there anything else i need to do before purchasing a used car? again i apologize for the dumbness of these questions. |

Re: advice for buying a used car
yes you have to pay taxes, you will most likely pay when you register the vehicle in your name.
yes, everyone haggles, some people more than others. often when buying a used car you have to be willing to walk away and come back another time if the person is not budging. take the car to a mechanic you know and trust, have them give it a once-over. locking this thread now since there are like five used car threads in OOT |
