Q7 ???
I've read that Q7 is supposed to the mean hand in terms of EV - but in Poker Stove, Q7 (offsuit or combined) is a dog against 8 other random hands, and Q7s is a favorite against 8 other random hands.
So... what gives? Why is this the "computer hand"? did someone make a boo boo? The hand that seems right on the dividing line that I found is (against 8 other random hands) is: J4s equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 11.100% 09.88% 01.22% 419374 51994.42 { J4s } Hand 1: 11.108% 10.04% 01.08% 426064 45649.17 { random } Hand 2: 11.112% 10.04% 01.07% 426360 45500.17 { random } Hand 3: 11.107% 10.03% 01.08% 425967 45694.67 { random } Hand 4: 11.121% 10.05% 01.08% 426497 45748.33 { random } Hand 5: 11.109% 10.04% 01.08% 426087 45640.67 { random } Hand 6: 11.101% 10.03% 01.07% 425800 45590.00 { random } Hand 7: 11.122% 10.06% 01.07% 426944 45363.67 { random } Hand 8: 11.119% 10.05% 01.07% 426639 45521.92 { random } I found no other starting hand that came as close. |

Re: Q7 ???
I've always wondered the same thing. I thought they meant heads-up, though (against 1 random hand). But, even then, the slight-edge hand would be Q5o or Q2s according to PokerStove.

[/ QUOTE ] hmm, only two reasonable explantions: Q7o is the hand closest to a 50% chance of winning (not 50% equity) Q7o have 50% equity if the random hand is just as likely to have a Q or K for example |
