Default am i too tight?

Quite frankly in full ring, I am scared of set miners. I have top pair top kicker but the person betting at me seems to know whats hes doing because of his stack size. I seen people betting with trips here to entice the person with AA or KK to reraise. I have no reads.

dyna....

I am the preflop raiser from MP and I flop TPTK IP against flop raiser, with one behind.

I have no worries about the SB raising the flop close to pot size. I do have a concern about the player still behind me here.

I raise somewhere about 3X the raise amount ( $10 to $12 ).

I'm pretty sure you would find out if SB had a set here after you repop his raise. Think about it this way::::: If SB HAD a set (monster), he would CHECK to the preflop raiser to get the blood flowing.

A donkbet (raising OOP into the PF raiser) usually says I have a good, but not great hand. Sorry, but this doesn't mean he has a set. In fact, it tells me VERY specifically that he does NOT have a set.

i seen people do this to me before with sets. I seen it a couple of times already. The thing about you saying raisig 3x the amount to 10-12. I can't really do this because i am committing myself aren't i? I only have about 23.75 to start this hand. Raising it to 12 would leave me with about 9 which means i am pot commiteed if he repops right?

Ewwwww. You cannot judge a person's skill by his stack size. Especially if you don't know how he got that stack. Donkeys win pots too ya know.

Back to the hand, terrible fold on the flop. You said you had no reads here; I would need a solid read to fold TPTK that easily on this flop. I generally raise this although calling and seeing what he does on the turn isn't bad either; although raising on the turn to really find out where you stand will cost more.

Oh, and always reload. No reason to be a short stack here unless you just lost a pot in the previous hand and didn't have time to add more chips.

Whow, can you let me know when you're playing so that I can join your table?

I often smooth call here to see the villain's action on the turn, but folding is absurd!

I am going to mention Hero's stack size also.

Hero is not full stacked.
Hero is not short stacked.

Hero is smack dab in the middle.... No-Man's Land. It makes this type of hand play miserably for our Hero. But he must forge ahead with what he's got. You can play like you are shortstacked and PUSH. You play as tho you are fullstacked and raise to $10-12.

But you get nowhere with a fold here. Why would you even play AJ????? (That is a SERIOUS question!!!!!)

because i am in late position? This bugs me because to me bettor could have a set or something like bottom 2 pair, maybe AJ or KJ. Then i have to worry about the person behind me. I normally raise or call but after reading that thread on the nit thread here... I don't feel like putting my money in without 2 pair or bettor in full ring.

Obvioiulsy if this was 6 handed there is no way i fold or i would quit poker.

This line of thinking cost me a lot of money on three different hands over one really bad weekend?
