Advice for Atlantic City trip
Hello,
I've never been to Atlantic City and planning a trip this June or July for 3-4 days. I'm looking to play poker (low limit cash games & tournaments), but also check out the sites and have a pleasant trip. From what I've gathered the Borgota seems like the place to stay. Is the boardwalk a must see? Will it be easy for me to drive through AC and park in the city/boardwalk? Also hoping to eat at some good upscale restaurants. Tried a search but couldn't find too much. I'll be driving from Massachusetts, thanks! |

Re: Advice for Atlantic City trip
Hi Don,
Visit the White House Sub Shop for lunch. They are located at 2301 Arctic Ave Atlantic City, NJ. Very notalgic place for pretty tasty subs. Also hoping to eat at some good upscale restaurants. What type of food? Is the boardwalk a must see? Yes. |

Re: Advice for Atlantic City trip
I would also consider checking out the Tropicana. It's right on the boardwalk, so you'll have access to the nice restaurants in the pier/mall thing in addition to those in the Casino. Plus, the low limit NL games are really soft, as there are fewer regulars than at the Borgata. They also have daily/nightly tournaments with reasonable buyins.

Re: Advice for Atlantic City trip
The borgata or Taj are your best bets. IMO Low limits are going to be pretty similar where ever you go, but they both have good sized rooms.

Taj is okay for cash games I guess, but I reitterate: do not play Taj tournies. They are turbo crapshoots at best. I second Mike's recommendation for the White House. Best bread ever. |

Will it be easy for me to drive through AC and park in the city/boardwalk? [/ QUOTE ] Parking is not easy if not parking in a casino. Even to drive through AC from the Borgata to the Boardwalk will take a little while because of traffic lights. However, there isn't too much driving distance involved for the things you will want to see, compared with the Las Vegas Strip, for instance. I would just park in casino garages/lots, and if there is somewhere else you want to go in town, either walk it or take a cab/jitney. Also, if you go from one casino parking lot to another, save the receipt they give you, you only have to pay once per day (usually around $4-$5). |
