Default live 3/6, AQo MP, betting the river #2

Hero has A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in MP, raises two limpers. Everyone but the limpers fold.

Flop [6 SB]: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Two checks, Hero bets, both call.

Turn [4.5 BB]: T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Two checks, Hero bets, both call.

River [7.5 BB]: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Two checks, Hero checks.

MUBS? I'm beating just about any ace but not getting called by busted straight draws, but the flush draw and one of the straight draws got there. OTOH, they *did* check to me...

Easy easy bet. Get called by Ax, 9x and occasionally worse. If someone was willing to check trips twice good for him.

In a live small game people will go for a river CR with a flush here a ton. Do you plan on calling the CR every time?

Typically you can fold to the c/r.

Check would cost 0 bets and gain 0 bets.
Bet fold to CR would cost 1 bet and could gain 1 or 2 bets.

Honestly I prolly would have played it the same way you did. I'm not sure but that might be a leak of mine. It sure looked like they were both on a draw. One of them might have hit the flush draw and was going for a c/r or missed it and wants to check it down. Nice answer huh? It's hard to say when all they do is call. The other might have had 87 and picked up the 8 missing a strait draw. They are both showing weakness.

On second thought you might want to bet to either gain the info needed or get an extra bet or 2.

I might be wrong but it looks like a Way Ahead/Way Behind situation.

Feel free to criticize.

One of the many things I get confused about in situations like this is how many BB must be in the pot for you not to fold if you get check raised on a river like this? If he bets and even 1 of the checkers CRs him there is now 10.5 BB in the pot. Is that worth 1 bet to call the CR even if you are pretty sure you ar beat?

There is no magic line where you should always call, and even if you want to behave as though there is one because you're not that confident in your handreading, 10.5BB isn't as big as it sounds.

If you were first to act, this would be a good check since 2 draws just came in. When they both check to you, the chance that a draw came in diminishes quite a bit. I believe that you must bet for value. In a live 3/6 game I would not have any difficulty folding to a raise.

My play here would mostly read-dependant. Are you up against a WPT wannabe who suffers from fancy play syndrome? Is one a calling station that calls down "made" hands like 77 and 66? You didn't provide any info on this in the OP, so it's kind of hard to say what to do.

Absent any reads, this is probably b/f.
