Default TPTK check raised on turn



PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J, A.
[i]1 fold[/i, Hero raises, 2 folds, SB 3-bets, [i]1 fold[/i, Hero caps, SB calls.

Flop: (9 SB) J, 2, 9 (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 6 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero calls.

River: (10.50 BB) 4 (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

why do you cap preflop? on the Turn he basiclly has 99 JJ AKs or AA and i think you can fold but you actially have outs vs overpairs who are likely too. The Pot is big and i think its a calldown in theory...

overplayed.
even against a fairly wide range for the situation (66+,A9s+,KJs+,ATo+,KQo), you are not pushing an equity edge by capping preflop.

raising the flop is really bad. your preflop cap over-repped your hand and he's still betting. just call down.

FWIW I think I make this mistake on occasion as well. straight calld own is the way to go IMO
