NL100: Play TPTK as nuts vs. PF caller?
Is it good to put villain on overpair and make big bet on turn or there is a better way to play this hand to extract more from OP/lose lesser against set/trips?
Is this typical WA/WB? No reads for villain, he just sat to table. id make a smaller bet on the turn probably, but getting it in here is good.

I think the turn bet is too big, and I reckon there's an argument for checking the turn.
as played this is a definite call. |

Re: NL100: Play TPTK as nuts vs. PF caller?
why check? thats a perfect double barelling card..so if you are bluffing oon the ace you need to bet when you have it?

Re: NL100: Play TPTK as nuts vs. PF caller?
In the villian's eyes the flop c-bet means nothing - we could have two random paints, an over-pair or ace high. he may have continued with a similar range. checking the turn disguises our hand and may lead him to value bet underpairs on the river, or pay us off with worse aces.
It also looks like the ace is a scare card for our hand, so we may induce bluffs from hands that would not otherwise have bluffed us. |

Re: NL100: Play TPTK as nuts vs. PF caller?
I generally prefer a check on the turn. The majority or his range is 99-QQ, which will rarely call a turn bet but will likely call a v-bet on the river. This may also induce him to bluff the river if he was floating the flop.
However, I agree that if you will sometimes double barrel here without the A you do sometimes have to bet the turn with it. I would probably check approx 70% and bet 30%. When you do bet though you need to make the same size bet you would if you were DBing, so I prefer a 2/3 or 3/4 pot sized bet. Betting pot here reduces the chance he will try to bluff representing the A, or call down with 99-QQ if he thinks you are DBing. As played, I would always call. |
