Default Screen Capturing / Recording

I'm interested in doing some recording / screen capturing
('filming' games/tourneys to make online pokah vids...
so everyone can laugh at how weak-tight I play

Can anyone gimme some suggestions?

Seems like Camtasia is the WTG..... but
Camtasia is $300 per license & I need to get 2-3 licenses. So.... I'm looking for a cheap (or free) alternative.

I'd love to hear opinions from the braintrust

Thanks Gents

I use camstudio (free) to record then compress the result w/an xvid codec; I get reasonable quality and smaller file than mpg. But I do the encoding in linux w/mencoder (mplayer) which has a windows version but no idea how hard to set up. There have to be windows substitutes but no idea what they are. So you can record now w/camstudio and winzip/gzip to save space until you figure out the encoding tool you'll use.
