Re: Time for another \"Bands You\'ve Never Heard of But I Have\" Thread
We just saw them again tonight in Chapel Hill (well, Carrboro, but nobody ever heard of Carrboro). My 4th or 5th time. They always kick down the doors and set the place on fire. I really dig Nevada's solo stuff; unfortunately, there's not much in the way of it on YouTube. There's like 1 minute of him doing Why Do It Right, and that seems to be it.

Re: Time for another \"Bands You\'ve Never Heard of But I Have\" Thread
both of these bands are kinda stoner rock-ey.
saw Valient Thorr open for Fu Manchu, and it was one of the greatest live shows i've ever seen. I bought thier most recent album and was suprised at how well they got that live feel on the tracks. Asteroid is a euro band with very very fuzz-laden black sabbath like tracks, and a great groove. they just dropped a solo album that is very very good, but thier songs on a dual album with a decent band (blowback)last year was absurdly good. |

Boro,
ASS seems like the type of band that would be an absolute ton of fun to see live, but totally bland and boring to listen to regularly. pryor, Some good stuff. Susan Enan sorta reminds me of Beth Orton, which is a guilty pleasure of mine. Jaymay is pretty cool. My contributions: Karp - long live set. In the vein of the Melvins. Really [censored] good. They broke up and their drummer died in a boating accident. Limp Wrist - Gay Hardcore. Tons of fun live. link One of my the better hardcore sets I've seen (not the youtube link. I caught them at DS 13's final US show in Minneapolis, which turned out to be Limp Wrist's last show). Tiger Saw - sorta mellow band from Newsburyport, MA. One of my favorite bands. Myspace Page. I wrote a love letter to the cello player/singer in 2003. |
