Ok, so here the hand is. Villain is 15.8/5.3 through 50 hands. I'd like to hear whether or not my preflop call is reasonable? What does this type of raise (from UTG @ FT) mean to you? What do you think of my flop call?

His raise size, with those stats, means he's not folding ever. Once you call pf, you have to call if you flop an ace. Normally, I'd shove OTT pf with that hand in BB, but that's when I think there is some chance villain might fold but as he's not going to, I think folding is fine. Calling off so much of your stack without a plan is bad.

So, this hand is foldable preflop because of what the villains stats and raise size indicate?

Well, yes, but looking back at the OP, your stats cover 50 hands not 500 as I thought so it's not quite so clear. He's still not folding though but his opening range isn't as tight as I thought.

When I get into situations like this I open the hand history box and look at any recent hands where opponent took down a good amount of chips.
If he opened with strong hands I'm more likely to fold. If he presses small stacks with crap I'm more likely to push. Given only 50 hands of history I pretty much ignore those stacks.....I prefer to rely on what he's shown down |

Preflop fold > push > call. You got to call the flop.

In all honesty, my first thought was I should fold this. Why would UTG bet so largely? As someone stalled, began to think that folding this would be weak. I really wanted to fold, but called after convincing myself he might have a pp. The flop came and hit me. I decided to check and see what he would do, mostly expecting a check or CB. Instead, I got the shove. I called, and the forum vibe I'm getting is... once I flopped that Ace, I was obligated to call.
Thanks for the input. It helps me out.
