I was just chatting with a friend, and I thought this table game at a casino would be the nuts:
the table displays some particular real life stock price. It updates every 3 seconds or so. You get to put down say $50, and when you press the button, you've got $50 worth of stock. You press a button to sell whenever you want. The house takes the other side of your position obv the house edge is the player has to buy at the ask, and sell at the bid also, the player can buy on margin so it's more exciting, with a minimum margin requirement of 0 (the casino will lose a little every time the player loses his whole bet, but not too much as long as the margin buying is not at some crazy level, no?) To address the problem of receiving a payout of some weird amount like $72.34, you are issued a card with a 'balance'. This speeds up the whole buying and selling process too If some 'day trading pros' decide to try and hit the casino (dunno why they would waste their time at the casino though), the casino could maybe catch on and take a position on the actual market, and if they are gumptions enough, take an even bigger position than the day trader because it's all a swipe card thing, people could have positions for days on end. The casino can limit the time a person can have a position to say 12 hours or something, automatically closing it after such a time. Well, maybe other people wouldn't enjoy this game, but I would have great fun playing it. eh? |

I think this 'game' already exists... [/ QUOTE ] It's called "market maker". As a casino game that only operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. till 1 p.m., I predict it is less than a blockbuster. |
