Default Barrys book - 30 million from dice, craps and heads up poker

In his wonderful book Ace On The River there is an anecdote about a dice player that won 30 million dollars through dice, craps and high limit heads up poker. He then proceeded to lose it all.
From what i remember he won and lost all of it within a year. Pretty damn crazy.

Anyone have any insight in this? Who was the player etc.

sick thing was i don't think he gets paid if archie loses, so no upside for him at all, that could be in the story, not sure. later. J.
