Yes, we are having our own World Series of Poker here in the Full Ring community. The buy-in is to-be-determined. Here's the format:
It's a bracket-style heads-up tournament, but each match will be a best of seven series in which the participants can play each other over the course of a week. There will be 64 entrants. You must request to be entered here and be approved. Basically the only requirement is that the entrant should have participated somewhat in this forum. Similar to the NHUPC, There will be 4 brackets: the [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. We will have a drawing the week before the tournament begins to determine (a) which bracket everyone is and (b) who they will be playing on the first and future rounds should they advance. I think we should all chip in a little extra money (like a buck or two) and get a trophy for the winner. Each round will run the course of a week, and the tournament will take 6 weeks. The exact format of the tournament is yet TBD, but I think standard HU tournament on Stars with increasing blinds should be the ticket. The tournament should coincide with the WSOP and will begin June 1st.

Prodigy,
I also am going out of town for a week in June. I think you could still play and just schedule your matches around that time frame. For instance, play your week 1 matches on the 1st and/or second and then if you advance play your week 2 matchs after the 10th. We'd love for you to be in this thing as you are one of the regulars here.
