Default The best way to write this program?

Mods sorry if this doesn't fit in here, but in the debate between posting here or Computer Technical help this seemed more appropriate...

Anyways, I want to write a program that basically has a slideshow of text or images that is displayed in an adjustably sized window.

I intend to use it for both poker and collegiate purposes, I figured if I had a slideshow in a fixed window constantly running at one part of the screen it would help me memorize things for school as well as remember poker mistakes.

For someone with little to no programming experience, how hard would this be to program? What programs would I have to pick up to make it?

Also, if anyone knows of anything like this out there, let me know, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks guys.

Adobe Flash is the way to go. The programming language - actionscript - is very easy to learn and the program comes with built in templates for slideshows

This is a good site for tutorials etc. It has some on slide shows. Good luck with it.
