Default Razz Tournament Play

This happened in the $24 Razz tourney the other day. There were 91 entrants and 16 places paid. We were down to 13 players and I was in 13th after taking a bad beat and then bringing in 3 hands in a row. 13th pays out about $30 while 12th pays out about $40. Average stack was $10,500. I don't have the actual hand history because of performance issues with Full Tilt.

(xx) K - $4,000 in chips brings in for full $800 (he had sucked out on me to avoid elimination)
(xx) J - folds
(xx) Q - folds
(xx) 4 - $20,000 in chips - very agressive - calls
(xx) 7 - about $12,000 in chips - tight player - calls
(a3) 5 - hero - $3,204 chips (after posting ante) raises to $1,600

K then calls the raise, 4 calls, 7 reraises to $2,400 , Hero reraises to $3,200 . everyone calls.

Hero bets out remaining $4 in chips on 4th and K is also all in on 4th.

Was my raise to $1,600 the right play on 3rd. I thought maybe K and 7 would go away. Was really surprised when 7 reraised and at that time I had to reraise all in with what I thought was clearly the best hand ( the 4 could have been calling with about anything).

Hands don't get much better than that and you're short. I'd run with it and hope to quadruple up.

How much better do you think you're going to do for your all-in? You're a ways away from the significant money, and if you want to get there, you need to make a move *now*. Unless you need that extra $10 to buy groceries or something.

Getting your T3200 in on 3rd street was your best play. I don't know about committing your last T4 on 4th tho without seeing how it broke for you

p.s. please supply names of donkeys... I mean opps, if you have them.

You have to jam this on 3rd even in a cash game or with deep money. The K brought in for a raise and two low cards flat called. You have to be way ahead with the three wheel cards.

These razz tournaments are pretty much all donkeys. The stakes are low and there aren't enough entries for a decent prize pool. All 3 villains played 3rd street strangely.

I couldn't believe when I saw the K complete. IIRC he had two babies in the hole. The 4 had 95 in the hole. Don't know what 7 had but I assume it was two cards under 5 because she had been pretty tight. The 7 eventually folded on 6th after she paired up and 4 had a decent board. I hit bad on 4th, 5th, 6th (all >9) but still had a draw on 7th to a 9 which missed. The 4 ended up winning the substantial pot and I finished 13th and K finished 12th.

When I raised I was hoping to thin the field and hopefully isolate the K and double through him and pick up the dead money and antes. I wasn't really happy with 4 going to 4th street even with my powerhouse hand.

My thought even before the hand finished up was if I just called, I might have been able to thin the field but thinking about it more, I had to get all the money in the pot at that point. If I had won I would have had $12800 plus the antes which I feel I could have done something with.

Played the $24 again last night and ended up being bubble boy.

ON the plus side, last night I played three sessions of $1/2 sitting in with $10 each time and sat out with $40, $50, and $40 for a total profit of $100. This was offset by the $30 I lost taking a shot at $3/$6.

Thanks for all the advice.
