Re: $16 - AA terrible river bet? I think so
I like it even if I'd prefer a small river value bet.
I don't see vilain checking a better hand on the river very often at the 16. In fact, almost never. |

Re: $16 - AA terrible river bet? I think so
i open to 80 utg with aces at such a low level,
flop bet is fine as played, river bet should be 260-275, river i do 1/2 pot, but with more raised pf=more raised flop=more raised turn, you should have been able to go all in without overbetting the pot. wp until river |

Re: $16 - AA terrible river bet? I think so
Yeah, preflop, flop and turn is fine.
River push can only be right if it is seen as a bluff or to prevent table to know your hand if it isn't called. But you dont mind the table knowing this hand, so that is not a good argument. Alas, I guess you will loose more than you gain on this push, as villain can be trapping. Best play imo is just checking the river and showing villain that you have a hand when you are involved. A "value bet" of 200-400 can backfire on you if he pushes on your bet. Then you must decide wheter you have been caught in a trap or if he is bluffing. No reads so early if you dont know the player, so as said - checking river is ok. |

I would bet more on every street
start with at least 80-100 preflop |

if we're putting in a small vb on the river, we HAVE to call right?

Re: $16 - AA terrible river bet? I think so
about 250 on the river is enough. i'd think long and hard about calling if they push. this maybe a good spot to sharkscope the villain... typically a winning player will bet their flush for value on the river. a loser will try to c/r (clearly a bad idea here).
