ugh, talked to a female for the first time in over 4 months - not good

So anyways, as you guys know, I don't get to talk to females and it's been over 4 months since I've talked to one - until today.

I was taking a bus from campus and I was sitting at the front at the time (I've heard of a rule stating that only black people can sit in the back so I did not want to break a social rule). I was sitting on the seats that are reserved for the disabled or elderly but are fine to sit on if neither of the above are present.

Anyways, 2 old men came on so I got up to give them my seat, when a seat close to me opened up. As I was about to sit down, an attractive woman who was about 34 decided to sit on it. I then told her in an earnest and friendly manner: "You can have the seat. I can stand, I'm young"

You should have seen the look on the face. She was embarrassed AND mortified. Trying to smooth things over, I started to stutter and get nervous. I told her: "OOPS! Did I just indirectly call you old? I'm terribly sorry!"

She was kind of smiling, but in a "wtf" kind of way. I then told her: "You don't look old at all! In fact, you could even pass for a student!"

As I was stuttering and going all red (she was going red as well) the people around us were all laughing at me [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img].

I then tried to reassure her by telling her that she doesn't look like an old prof, but she DEFINITELY looks like a student.

Then I said out loud: "I guess I should shut up now."

In a last ditch attempt to smooth things over, before I left the bus, I looked her straight in the eye and told her: "I'm terribly sorry. You don't look a day over 25."

God, why do I always drop the ball like this? The first time I talk to a female in months and I end up being laughed at by strangers.


(BTW, is there any chance that I could perhaps do the sexual relations with her if I see her again?)

This is actually a common misconception. You can sit anywhere you like, they just have to sit behind you. It really [censored] with them if you sit in the last row.
