Default Top Pair vs. Turn raise

Full Tilt 3/6, 7 handed, Villain is 14.3/1.5/0.69 after 391 hands.

Preflop: Villain raises UTG+1, folds to hero in SB who raises w/A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], BB folds, Villain calls.

Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets, Villain calls.

Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets, Villain raises, Hero??

Any comments welcome, thanks.

Raising an UTG raiser OOP w/ ATs problematic. Better to complete PF, c/c to the river, and see his AKo at the showdown?

Fold preflop. Without a moment's hesitation.

As played, fold to the turn raise. Also without a moment's hesitation.

This guy has a 1.5 PFR raise. Fold unless there are a bunch of cold callers. 3 betting is a horrible play. You never have the best hand here.

As played fold the turn.

That's one of the worst preflop 3bets I have seen in a while. Fold the turn. You weren't lucky enough to have your terrible preflop play rewarded against KK or QQ.

Sorry everyone, I'm having a serious problem with posting the correct action lately. The action on this hand preflop was a call by villain UTG+1 and I made it two bets. I'll have to do a better job of proofreading my post. If there are any comments about the correct hand now, it would be appreciated. Again, sorry all.

Okay, I retract the preflop criticism.

But I still fold to the turn raise. I don't think he's semibluff-valueraising (new term I think?) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] very often, and he's got you absolutely crushed the vast majority of the time.

If I did call for some reason, I'd be check/folding anything but an A or T on the river, maybe a J, and check/calling with those. Which is of course why I like folding to the turn raise.

I definitely agree. 3-betting PF is just bad. As is anything other than folding the turn.
