I really didn't like just calling off such a large part of my stack and I figured maybe the shortstack was a little desperate and my hand matched up favorably. Even if the shortstack had me dominated, I would still have a stack. Looking back I think it was reckless and my hand simply wasn't good enough and I should have folded. |

I'm fine with it. I don't think you can straight-forward perfect cash game style and expect to win tournaments. You have to get in there and gamble sometimes.
I think it's fine. I think there are so many more situations that are truly reckless. |

Re: PLO8 MTT, A27Q ep, many limpers, facing lp shortstack raise
Sorry, this hand is not worth 1/3+ of your stack without even seeing a flop. And, keep in mind that the player who was in between you and the button (the CO) had BOTH of you covered so you can very well be playing this hand for everything that's in front of you. I can see if you were getting desperate, sure, but you still had a lot of wiggle room left. I'd at least want a suited Ace if I was going to committ it all. Bleh.

Re: PLO8 MTT, A27Q ep, many limpers, facing lp shortstack raise
I agree with Rush, it's still early enough that you can take somewhat of a cash approach to an unsuited A2 when your sidecards are Q7 and you're three-suited in Diamonds. Pushing here would make me feel quite ill. Would you not want more callers with a smooth call of the initial raise preflop? There is greater than a 0% chance button might check the flop, or fold if you push any flop, particularly this one - granted the chance of button folding post-flop is close to 0, but the fact remains if you blank the flop at least you save a little change or find out the button whiffed too.

Re: PLO8 MTT, A27Q ep, many limpers, facing lp shortstack raise
I think calling off 1/4 of my stack with A2Qx is really weak tournament play, so the choice is between folding and pushing, and after reading people's thoughts I think a fold was definitely the better play. My opponent could have me dominated with A2JJ or A2Kx too many times.
What is the general standard for saying someone is dominated in O8? |

AA23 double suited VS A223 rainbow. That should be pretty good domination right there.
It's very hard to be truly truly dominated in this game. The worst you'll USUALLY see is closer to a 2to1 or 3to1. There's a lot of stuff workin in people's hands. |
