NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
I am playing 18 / 14 on this table although villain may have me a bit higher from history. I have him as
33 20 4 over 121 hands. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) SB ($143.90) BB ($100) UTG ($98.50) MP ($217.25) CO ($99.50) Hero ($195.15) Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises to $4, MP calls $4, CO calls $4, Hero raises to $24, 2 folds, UTG folds, MP folds, CO raises to $99.5, Hero ??? I haven't really been 3-betting excessively on this table. |

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
I really hate a squeeze preflop here. Flat calling is definetely way more profitable. As played, I don't really see the dilemna. Fold and move on to the next hand.

What range are you putting the shover on here to fold this? Note that the shove is not from the initial raiser.

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
why has the CO flat called initially, can he really have that big of a hand?.. i think your in front here, likely range but i agree willw9 flat calling for set value seems much more profitable in terms of winning a nice pot

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
Oh, my bad AR. Misread the hand. NVM, there's no way I'm folding here. Just to be sure though, he is laggy right? I know he runs about 30/20, but just makin' sure he lives up to his stats

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
This is not a common play for me, but I'm not sure that flat calling is the best play, especially with aggressive players in the blinds that are likely to squeeze three callers. Yes there are a lot of people in the pot so it seems like the implied odds are good, but it will be tough for anyone to pay off my set with three likely low pocket pairs in the pot.

As far as I know he is LAGGY. Not a whole lot of history. He had been quiet on this table so far.

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
I dunno, I don't hate r/r PF but racetracks are getting close to my subjective cutoff for limping.
As for calling the shove it's read dependent. If he sux this could be JJ, but most of the time these guys have big aces and hands like yours IMHO. |

What games do you play where your set doesn't get paid off here? Btw, if the blinds are squeezing often, how is the stregth of your hand in that situation different than now vs. CO? |

Re: NL100: 88 squeeze runs into a shove
pf is pretty lame. i sure hope you intend on getting it in on a xxx board too, (or even maybe something like a Jxx board). this is probably a call alot, i cant see him doing it with a strong hand (ie. large pair). i think you see alot of underpairs alot.
so, probably call if he's good, fold if he's nothing but a nit. |
