If you want the fancy XPS case.....it might be a deal. You'd really need to go price shop it with a new one a Dell's site. I also assume that price only includes the standard 1 yr warranty. I can get you alot better specs for much less money on a Dell Inspiron 6400/1505, I do know that.

Hope this helps a little.....

*Edit*: Ok I just glanced back and saw that it was a 17" screen which does make it a little better price, but not alot. That processor is really considered out dated now.....

So you already bought this laptop? Oh! No big deal, if you're happy that's all that matters. The Inspiron 9400 I quoted up there would require an upgrade to get the 1920 x 1200 resolution. The total price would be $1,147 for the same laptop I quoted with the same resolution you got. That's $197 more than you paid.

Either way, it doesn't really matter because it sounds like you already own the XPS. Do I think the 9400 I quoted with the hi-res screen was a better "deal"? Absolutely, BUT you're happy with it and it does all you want, that's what matters and there is nothing we can do to change it now.

anyone know how many tables can fit on a 1920 x 1200 screen? i am desperately trying to find a monitor that can accomodate six tables on a screen w/ no overlap. also, i'd like a larger screen, say 21" or so. any ideas?

12 tables tiled on FTP, which are resized, not normal size.
Probably same on Stars.
