3/6 JJ river decision.
Villain is 30/15/2 - not a good player, i think hes a small loser like -1ptbb/100. He'd see me as 24/22/5~ somewhere around there...
Never really seen him cold call like this. 3/6nl $600 effective 6 handed. utg folds, utg1 raises $21, Villain calls $21, Hero raises J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] $93, sb folds, bb folds, utg1 folds, Villain calls. Flop ($205~) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero checks Turn ($205~) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain bets $88, Hero calls River ($375~) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain bets $215, Hero? |

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
You should have bet the flop to at least see where you're at. It would be hard for him to play back at you on this flop without a set or strong ace. I couldn't see calling down the turn and the river being terribly profitable. I think you pretty much gave this up on the flop. So either bet flop or raise turn to shut him down if he is making a move.

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
Pay off river, lots of dumb players will do this as a bad bluff with a lower pp or complete air.

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
I call this weak river bet, his most likely holding looks to be some pocket pair and we beat a fair few of those. People are dumb.

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
i fold these unless i've seen villian make bluffs OOP on river.
given that he isn't a great player, AJ AQ and AK are all in his range. a club flush is also possible. you'd have to know he is capable of holding air a good % of the time here to make this call profitable since it's unlikely he is vbing a hand worse than yours. a sidenote is that vs a better player u could probably add KK and QQ to his river vbing range although it would be weird pf play. |

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
I agree with Matt that the best play is probably to c-bet flop and shut it down if he doesn't fold. As played, I think river is a tough decision. Calling or folding are both ok.
If villain is halfway decent, his turn and river look like well-sized value bets against the exact hand you're representing with your reraise/check/call line. |

Re: 3/6 JJ river decision.
Looks like ur gettin vbetted and the flush hit as well in case he had a hand like 67cc; so I jus muck it grudgingly. Personally, I still woulda bet the flop for $135-$150.
