Tell me I should have laid this down

Ok 188 person MTT. 80 left pays only 10. Avg stack is 5800. I got 3800 blinds 300/600.

First hand at new table, haven't seen how anybody has played yet. I am in late position one away from the button.


UTG raises to 1500
Chip leader at table is 4th pos says "I am going to make you put it all in to gamble" and pushes his stack. Approx 12K.
Fold to me and I got Queens. Push or fold?? I got a M of 4 so I felt I had to push.
I prayed he had AK or JJ, but UTG folds and he shows KK.

I loose the race.

Was it a horrible play or just the way the cards fell. Any help would greatly appreciated.
