$1/2 NL at foxwoods raise too big?
I called a raise to 12 dollars with two limpers with j10 of clubs at the $1/2 tables at foxwoods earlier this evening. The flop was QK4 of clubs which gave me the flush with the possibility of a str8 flush or even royal flush. The original raiser checks and the other bets $20.I am putting him on the ace of clubs here so I raised him $40 more and they both folded right away. Was this raise too much or was it good to make him pay if he did indeed have the ace high flush draw?Ty

You shouldn't put opponents on a particular hand, put them on ranges.
Because of your solid hand I could slow play it and squeeze a little more money perhaps. |

Re: $1/2 NL at foxwoods raise too big?
you should tell us stacks and whether you were in the blinds.
Thats a 300 game IIRC, so if there's 48 in the pot, original raiser puts out a <1/2 pot bet.... but what did the limpers do? And no reads? Hell, it doesn't matter, Ac,sets have 6-7 outs for the turn, you only need to offer them worse than 6:1, pot will be 20:88 for the first limper and 20:108 for the second so a call is possible ...but you wont like 13 turn cards so I'd treat it more like 2.5:1 and raise it... at least 40 more. Sets or Ac or even two pair will call, so that's no big deal. Anyway, with 280 behind we should look to start building a pot anyway with this hand. You did fine. next time tell us more detail. |

Re: $1/2 NL at foxwoods raise too big?
Sorry ,I think I had about $400 at the time of the hand and one guy had about $400 and the other just bought in for $300. The guy who just bought in for $300 was the one who bet $20 on the flop.
