Party monitors your computer activity
(Cross-posted here because I find this information important.) because I find this information important.)
This message below is a screenshot of my Zone Alarm Security Suite. I just installed it today so I was quite surprised to find this message. This message displays when you first login to your account. If you open up Party Poker and do not login, it does not show. I can open up tables and observe games and my Zone Alarm client does not notify me of Party logging my keystrokes and such. It is only when I login. I don't know computers well enough to know whether Party can retrieve information about your computer when you are not logged in, but I do know that it is only sending data back to Party once you first login. Good news, I can click deny on my Zone Alarm security message. Party still allows me to login and play, but Zone Alarm has denied Party Poker priviledges to monitor my computer. I don't know if this means Party has zero access to anything my computer does or not. If someone else does please confirm. I recommend that everyone download Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite if they are equally as feared as I am about Party having so much access to our computers. ZAISS is a trial program. Full version costs $50. I am sure there are other applications out there that can prevent Party access to our computers but I am not aware of what they are. If there are any free applications I ask for people to please list them. Enjoy! * Edit/MH: Thread locked. Please post to original thread via link above. |

Re: Party monitors your computer activity
I have Norton Internet Security 2006.
Norton never picked that up, or at least it decide to not let me know about it. Has anyone one else's security system pick that up? blue_water |

Re: Party monitors your computer activity
It's just to make sure you're not running a bot.
Party, while retarded, is a publicly traded company and won't do anything malicious to your computer. On purpose, anyway. |

Re: Party monitors your computer activity
Isn't this a good thing? Don't you think it's good if Party can log keystrokes to monitor collusion, bots, and illegal software? Do you honestly think that Party is using it for malicious purposes?

Re: Party monitors your computer activity
I think you actually agree to let Party monitor your computer when you agree to their terms of service. If you continue to block the Party app from dialing home I wouldn't be surprised if Party sent you a note asking what was going on.

Not to be an ass, but I just assumed this was already pretty widely known.

Re: Party monitors your computer activity
I for one want Party to monitor everyone's system. I have nothing to hide, and want to make sure everyone else is playing on a level field.
