Villain has been very quiet - not trying to own the bubble at all. If there's no short stack, I push. With the short stack, I'm not so sure, given how quiet villain has been. The large raise is what really threw me - I wasn't sure what to make of it.

I push this one
5.5 BB should not be short enough to make it into a fold |

Thanks - I agree a push is the right move. Do you read anything into the unusually large raise by villain? Do you think this typically means he's trying to isolate the BB, doesn't want a call at all, trying to be tricky with a monster, or could be anything?

I find overbets like this to be AK or AQ. With a big stack like his, a lot of times worse.
Gotta push. |

Fold QQ here. It's 4 handed and the big stack has just raised. It's obvious he either has AK or AA/KK. If he has JJ, 1010, 99, AJs, KQ, 88, 77, or trash, he's committed and you're well ahead, but, it's not worth the risk, because, doubling up to chip leader and guaranteeing a cash < folding out and having about a 70% chance of winning third.
Now that you see how ridiculous this argument is, you won't overthink next time you have QQ, JJ, 1010, and AQ (depending a little on CO's play. I think this only becomes a problem, honestly, when you go down to AJs or 99. with 99, I may just call, with AJ, I fold. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think this rationale is flawed. What reason do you have to believe that he is making a raise like that with such a tiny range (AK,KK,AA)? IMO, you are ahead of his range with QQ. There's no reason to try to fold into third when the shortstack is still in contention with 5.5BB. A more likely range for him is something like 77+,AJs+,AQo+; in which case you are ahead against his range 63-37. |
