Default Is this a good spot to push?

Hi All,

Trying to plug/maximise a few points in my game. Do you think this is a good spot to push. Stars $10 FO tourney so will have some loosish players in it, but with 800 already in the pot, is it too juicy to just call?

I don't like this spot to push imo... UTG raised 4xBB and unelss he has been uber aggressive, I'm just flatcalling here, since there are so many players in the pot, of whom one might think about calling your 1200 more, getting nearly 2:1 odds. I'm flatcalling here, but I don't know if that's too weak.

definately calling.

you can't get rid of all 4 opponents ... also, chances are that someone has you crushed already and is trying to trap.

see a flop and check/fold unless you hit your set.

OK, point taken, but surely when someone sees you pushing against 4 people, they perhaps give me more strength than 99, hence giving me more FE?

Am I way off here?

CHeers,

Jon

I like a push here. I´m not too worried about UTG+1, CO, and SB: why would they create a multiwaypot with a strong pair? I put UTGs range on TT, JJ, AQ, AK, meaning 44% for you to win. If you add QQ to UTGs range, you´re still 41%.

So they fold or call with KK/AA?

In a $10, a 4x raise is more often than not one of the hands in the range I assigned.

You can't remove AA,KK from UTG's range. Yes the bet is 4x, but that is not enough to remove them completely.

edit: QQ has to be in range as well

Kyer, putting utg on TT,JJ,AQ,AK and excluding QQ-AA because it's a 4xbb raise is absolutely rediculous. When blinds are low you fully expect for players to raise premium hands 4-5xbb or even more because they still get action.

Early in low buy-in tourneys you have hardly any folding equity when you push from the BB in this kind of spot. You're much better off calling and trying to hit your set.
