Normally I would, but what cards hurt me on the turn and his calling range should be very small on this flop, right? Meaning I won't get called often...

If you're trying to extract the most value, why call behind on the river?

That said, I would value bet the crap out of the flop.

if he doesn't have a hand to call you on the flop. you're not going to excract much more value by giving him a chance to catch up.

just bet the flop, turn and river and hope he has somehting. in other words, you make the most money off these situations by extracting value out of made hands on all 3-streets not by letting worse hands catch up. you need to start building a big pot now, so the river bet will be large...u know what i'm saying.

Really easy flop bet here. You have a monster and you need to start building a pot. If he folds to a flop bet, it's not like he had anything that you were going to be making money off of anyways. Okay, maybe you can occasionally induce a bluff on one street, but the small amount you gain there is overshadowed by the value you gain by building a big pot against a second-best hand. If he fired the turn and river with a worse hand here, I bet you could have got atleast the same amount of value by just betting the flop and going from there.

Ok, like I said I would'nt normally play this hand this way and personally do not like the line I took. The flop check was kind of a spur of the moment decision.

The thing that threw me is that the SB flipped over AxJs and got me thinking about the validity of a check behind against certain aggro postflop players. This is what made me want to see what you guys think.

I think this line is fine. Don't listen to the haters. You don't need to cbet every flop, and if you have a read that someone is going to bluff at you a lot when you show weakness, this is a great spot to check.

River is a fantastic card for you and I would seriously consider pushing.

I sorta like but IMO ur missing value on flop by checking. I'd bet becuz you'll often get bluff c/r on this flop, and often they will follow up with turn bet, which is wher eyou can rele stick it to him, and get more value, especially if he does have legit hand like AT or somethin.
