[ QUOTE ] lol thats so standard [/ QUOTE ] whats standard?? [/ QUOTE ] The whole line. The more you bet here the more often he folds. You have to size your bet so that he will call with his moderate hands instead of folding them. This is something that comes with practice and reads. You did fine here. $4 may have folded him. |

Re: i think i found my major leak
Whoa whoa whoa. I didn't see that you called the flop. That's pretty bad, but his bet is small and you have 2nd pair and a good kicker and you were the pfr. I read the HH as he checked flop and turn. Yeah, it's not so standard, but it's not a "major leak".

Re: i think i found my major leak
Flop is bad because it's a bit better to raise and keep repping strength. River is perfect.

Re: i think i found my major leak
Without a read, I think calling the flop bet is a mistake. You raised preflop, were called, an A hit, and Villian leads. He has an Ace and we have no draw at this point. I don't mind a flop raise if we've seen Villian fold top pair/weak kicker hands when raised.
The rest of the hand looks good. I think calling the flop bet may be a leak. |

Flop is bad because it's a bit better to raise and keep repping strength. [/ QUOTE ] While I agree with this as a general rule, I don't apply it in every circumstance. As the pfr'er I raise a flop donk into me as close to always as I can. But if villain is a nasty donk and it is clear he has, say, an Ace (like here) and I consider that no amount of betting is going to make him fold, then I often hold off on the raise. And the answwr I'd give to OP's origianl question is to bet the highest amount you think will get called. If you think he'll call a shove with AJ, shove it. If you think he's too smart for that and will only call $2, then your bet is fine. |

Re: i think i found my major leak
i definitely call flop, vill is more likely betting to use the A as a scare card than betting for value, we can ditch the turn if he continues.
On the river bet 3-4 bux, 2 is weak as hell, if guy is calling 2 he is calling 4. |
