Folded AA preflop
I have AA29 with the 29 suited in diamond
1/2 6max game on FTP Villain one has 350 and is BB, villain 2 has 200 and is UTG, I cover both Villain 2 is a solid regular at .5/1 and 1/2, villain one is fishy/tilts hard. Villain 2 limps, Button raises to 5.50, I call in SB, Villain one raises pot, Villain 2 reraises pot, Button folds, I fold? |

Re: Folded AA preflop
yeah fold here, your OOP, which is huge in PLO, but also your drawing to a 9 of diamonds, also your easily dominated by better aces, and also behind hands that connect such as KQJT. Also your deepstacked right?
IMO You played it fine. |

Re: Folded AA preflop
so calling with a weak AA first time it comes around to us in SB is the bettor play as we keep the pot down.

Re: Folded AA preflop
Sorry didn't realize it was raised before us, yeah IMO I would still call but fold to a RR.

Re: Folded AA preflop
The only time I *ever* fold AA preflop is when I am at a table where there are donks with big stacks, I also have a big stack, I am OOP, and it's going to be difficult to play the hand postflop with the stack sizes. The only reason to do this is because I am willing to pass up a moderate edge now for a larger edge later with deep stacks.

I play my aces strong, but I just feel that when you get it all in you are either against another AAxx which is stronger than yours, or its a 60 40 all in. Yeah cold calling this would be bad esp OOP. |

yeah fold here, your OOP, which is huge in PLO, but also your drawing to a 9 of diamonds, also your easily dominated by better aces, and also behind hands that connect such as KQJT. Also your deepstacked right? [/ QUOTE ] Position is irrelevant because Hero can pot it to $260, enough to put one villain all in and the other 75% in. There won't be any flop play. Now, Hero is in bad shape against specifically, another AA and any rundownish hand. This would be an easy fold if you were near certain that one of the villains had the other AA. It's really hard to come up with a hand where these trashy Aces can call here. However, there is a real chance that neither has AAxx. If one has AAxx, your equity will be around 25% (for the main pot) and 50% (for the side pot), if not it will be close to 45% (for the main pot) and 60% (for the side pot). These are typical numbers. Main pot = about $600 Side pot = about $300 Cost for you = $350 If an opponent has AA then your EV will be: EV = 600(.25) + 300(.5) - 350 = -50 If not, then your EV will be: EV = 600(.45) + 300(0.6) - 350 = +100 So, you should only fold if you're up against another AA more than 2/3 of the time. I'll leave it to others to decide how often this is true. |
