Raise/call. You don't have the reads to put him on a straight, set, or two pair.

You also don't have the reads to put him on top pair all of the time. I'll assume, if I have to, that an unknown at .25/.5 is at least somewhat loose, and somewhat passive. You'd have to be confident that you win 50% of the time here to make it a safe value raise. If you're way behind, you're paying another 2BB to see his cards.

Value-raise the river.
I would hate to be 3-bet, but I'm positive I'd call, even if I wasn't too sure about it. |

Villain is unknown. [/ QUOTE ] Meh, just call. fwiw, if the river were the Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I'd raise/call all day. |

Also, he's still firing on the river with that A out.. very odd for top pair or jacks. I don't play that guy enough to value raise.

I don't like a raise here... getting 3-banged really sucks and there is no way calling that raise is ever +EV.
Just call and hope he has KT and not AT or better. |

Just call. If you beat the villain, he’d probably fold to a raise anyway.

Meh. I want to get to showdown and I don't want to pay extra bets to do so. There is value to raising because you have the best hand often, but there may not be much value. You played your hand exactly like most players play AK and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that JT is no good. They probably call a lot anyway, which is why there might be value, but it sucks to pay 3 bets because Ax is a common sort of hand I'd expect to see.
Edit: I also don't know much about PS .25/.50 since I've never played it. The lower stakes could imply more value to raising. |
